Watching Ernesto

Boscovs
This picture is for Steve . I finally made it to Danville to visit a Boscov's on Wednesday with my husband and kids. I took this picture as proof!

As we came out, this was the angry sky that met us. We got in our car and back on the highway just in time as the sky let loose it's rain.

I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever

Over the mountains and the sea,
Your river runs with love for me,
and I will open up my heart
and let the Healer set me free.
I'm happy to be in the truth,
and I will daily lift my hands:
for I will always sing
of whenYour love came down.

[Yeah!]I could sing of Your love forever,
I could sing of Your love forever,
I could sing of Your love forever,
I could sing of Your love forever.
[Repeat]

Oh, I feel like dancing
-it's foolishness I know;
but, when the world has seen the light,
they will dance with joy, like we're dancing now.

This is not a new song, by far. Many various people have recorded it and many churches have used it during their worship time. I've been hearing it a lot lately on Klove .
The line that really catches my attention is the one that states "Im happy to be in the truth". What is that truth? That truth is Jesus Christ. There is no other truth. Jesus stated in John 14:6:
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Jesus didnt say he was a truth, but THE truth. Jesus is THE way, Jesus is THE life. Not a truth, a life or a way...THE ONE AND ONLY. Because of Jesus, we can daily lift our hands in praise and sing of when His love came down. Thank you Jesus! \0/

The best part of going to sheetz (besides the $2.57 a gallon for gas) is this row of M & M dispensers. You fill your cup by color. It's so much fun! We first saw it a few months ago on the way home from church. While my husband put gas in the car, my daughter and I went inside for something. We saw this row of M & Ms and HAD to get some for Jay. He is the real M & M person of the family. We handed him the cup and told him about it. He didn't actually see it in person until today. Today when he finally saw it, he loved it!

Around 6:30 this morning, the school buses went around our neighborhood, picking up random children standing by the curb. Again, I was oh so glad that my kids were not out there! My kids were safely tucked inside their beds sound asleep. (why exactly IS school starting on a Friday here anyway?)
We actually started our schooling again on Monday. Fortunately, we do not have to wake up so very early to school. We go at our own pace. Ahh, yet another benefit of homeschooling.
Also, there are two times of the year I have now noted that are not good times to buy a hairdryer. One is right after Christmas. The other time is in August when kids are going back to school. Unfortunately, this year, we have needed to buy a hairdryer at both of these times and the shelves have been wiped out. Oh we found one, on sale at that, but it wasn't exactly what we had hoped for. I really don't care though, it will probably break within the next few month and it too will become history as well. These things used to last for years. Now it seems we hardly get six months out of them. That sounds really negative, but it is what is. We support the hairdryer industry with vigor!

....My pastor told this story on Sunday

The Bathroom Commode

The story is told of a lady who was rather old-fashioned, always quite delicate and elegant, especially in her language. She and her husband were planning a week's vacation in Florida, so she wrote to a particular campground asking for a reservation.
She wanted to make sure the campground was fully equipped, but didn't quite know how to ask about the toilet facilities. She just couldn't bring herself to write the word "toilet" in her letter. After much deliberation, she finally came up with the old-fashioned term BATHROOM COMMODE. But when she wrote that down, she still thought she was being too forward. So she started all over again, rewrote the entire letter referring to the bathroom commode merely as the BC: "Does the campground have it's own BC?" is what she actually wrote.
Well, the campground owner wasn't old-fashioned at all and when he got the letter, he just couldn't figure out what the woman was talking about. That BC business really stumped him.
After worrying about it for awhile, he showed the letter to several campers, but they couldn't imagine what the lady meant either. So the campground owner, finally coming to the conclusion that the lady must be asking about the local Baptist Church, sat down and wrote the following reply:
Dear Madam: I regret very much the delay in answering your letter, but I now take pleasure in informing you that a BC is located nine miles north of the campground and is capable of seating 250 people at one time. I admit it is quite a distance away, if you are in the habit of going regularly, but no doubt you will be pleased to know that a great number of people take their lunches along and make a day of it. They usually arrive early and stay late. It is such a beautiful facility and the acoustics are marvelous even the normal delivery sounds can be heard.
The last time my wife and I went was six years ago, and it was so crowded we had to stand up the whole time we were there. It may interest you to know that right now a supper is planned to raise money to buy more seats. They are going to hold it in the basement of the BC.
I would like to say it pains me very much not to be able to go more regularly, but it surely is no lack of desire on my part. As we grow old, it seems to be more of an effort, particularly in cold weather.
If you do decide to come down to our campground, perhaps I could go with you the first time you go, sit with you, and introduce you to all the other folks.
Remember that this is a friendly community.
Sincerely,(Campground Owner)

I was going through some of our old containers full of various things from when we were homeschooling the wee elementary years. I was reading through some of the bible verses on cards we had in the containers...and this one was one of them..

Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy. Acts 14:17

Amen!

Let's Say Thanks!
If you go to the web site above, you can pick out a thank you card and the Xerox Corporation will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services.

Today-while it was so very hot outside, we watched Eight Below on DVD. This was a great movie (especially if you enjoy the snow and dogs. Be prepared, your eyes may mist up during certain scenes.
You can get the basic story at the link. We plan on watching it one more time before sending it back to Netflix.
Thanks Joel for the recommendation!

Happy Sweet Sixteen
Hannah!
Our daughter, Hannah, turned 16 Aug 2nd. Hannah, Christopher and I went out to eat at Burke Manor Inn, in Gibsonville. Today's food was great, as usual.
It was just so hot outside. So we went to eat and then quickly returned to the fans and air conditioning of our house for a quiet afternoon. Jay came home from work early..and we watched tv, had some pizza and cake and celebrated a little more. Next stop-the DMV-
