Below are scans of the artwork I did for my children, Hannah and Christopher on the Valentine's Day Cards I gave them respectively. Colored pencils and ink, done somewhat fast. (as usual, eleventh hour cards LOL)

We were at the Dollar Tree again last night. As we were leaving, my daughter spotted a display of Hello Kitty Pez Dispensers. She and I both decided to get one. I haven't had a new one in years. (and I love Hello Kitty stuff)
As we were loading our Pez, I noticed that there were actual instructions on how to load your pez dispenser. I dont know why, but I found it humorous. Perhaps because I have been doing this for years and loading one just seems like a given and self explainatory....or perhaps just because like when Chi Chi's first came out with their version of the fajita (the Chajita), they had an instruction paper of how to wrap it(including fold lines--I found that funny too-as did my co workers that I was there with for a Christmas party 22 yrs ago)
So here is a picture of my new pez and of the instructions....as I found it amusing, even if just for a moment :)
It is loaded with candy and sitting here on my desk.

As we continue to go to the laundrymat (hopefully for just a few more weeks at most)...we continue to entertain ourselves. The laundry lady that tends to the place in the daytime has accused us of being too happy as we enter the place (LOL)
Last Monday when there, as I went to get change for my $5, the thought struck me that as the coins drop into the cup, I should start to jump up and down shouting "WE WON! WE WON! WE WON!"....
ok I am easily entertained, and was one of those kids that could play with a piece of string for hours ;)

Get Human
Sometime last fall or summer, I posted a link for a list of phone numbers where you could access a human customer service rep (as opposed to going through the maze of options on your phone). Today, I was trying to help my sister find a customer service number for Yahoo, and tried the link again. I found they had changed to this site above. Interesting blog and site now, with options for you to rate your experiences with calling customer service numbers as well. Thought it was well worth reposting.

Groundhog Day?
Im not real sure about this six "more" weeks of winter thing depending on a rodent. I mean, we had winter temperatures through December, but January felt more like March or April. I am still looking for snow, and the deep cold to return. So Mr Groundhog, as if you really have any influence in our weather-I dont care what you say today..it is the Lord God of Heaven and all of earth that holds my days and yours in His hands and is in control of the weather and seasons we see. That is what is truth. I know this.
And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years...Genesis 1:14
“While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
Cold and heat,
Winter and summer,
And day and night
Shall not cease.”
-The Lord speaking in Genesis 8:22
Can you ensure the proper sequence of the seasons or guide the constellation of the Bear with her cubs across the heavens? The Lord God, questioning Job-Job 38:32
Thank you Joel for sharing this cartoon you mentioned in the comments a few days ago.

My daughter, Hannah, who is 15, wrote this today as a part of her daily creative writing. I enjoyed it-and so for a second time here on this blog, is a bit of the spin she puts on the world...
Is it really a new month? It seems like just a week ago it was, all of a sudden, January 1. Now, instead of books on how to loose weight and low-fat, no calorie foods right inside the doors of stores, there will be rich (very rich) milk chocolate candy hearts, dark chocolate candy hearts and those little disgusting chocolate bars that taste like rasberries or some other weird fruit. It's not like I don't like the chocolate, it is just funny how stores stop pushing the books on diets so they can make a lot of money off people that are wanting to buy candy now that it is February. (and that means Valentine's Day) It is fun to go and look at all the different kinds of candy that is companies make just for Valentine's Day and just drool over it all. (just make sure to leave the fruity or coconut chocolate candy there!)
